Fed Workers: Broke 🤑
Source: Kaiser Health News

So, you know how they say ‘hold my beer’ when things are about to go wrong?

Well, the federal government just said ‘hold my coffee’ and raised healthcare premiums for their employees by over 12% next year… on top of a 13. 5% hike in 2025, fr fr.

The Tea ☕

This is wild because the two-year increase is higher than what many private employers and their workers are experiencing, which is lowkey a whole thing and I’m not okay.

I mean, who doesn’t love a good game of ‘can I afford to get sick this month? ’ - it’s giving me main character energy, but not in a good way.

The people who actually know things are saying this is a big deal, and I’m inclined to agree (no cap).

Why This Matters (Or Doesn’t) 👀

This is a whole thing because federal employees are already dealing with the aftermath of the shutdown, and now they have to worry about affording healthcare - it’s like, they’re already stressed, and this is just adding fuel to the fire.

It’s like the government is playing a game of ‘rent free’ with their employees’ anxiety levels.

But, for real, this is a significant issue because it affects not just the employees but also their families - it’s a whole vibe, and not a good one.

The Vibe Check 💅

So, what’s the tea?

The federal government needs to get it together and figure out a way to make healthcare more affordable for their employees, or else they’ll be dealing with a whole lot of delulu employees who can’t even afford to get a doctor’s note, let alone actual healthcare.

It’s time for them to touch grass and realize that their employees are human beings, not just numbers on a spreadsheet.

Anyway, that’s the update from the world of federal employee healthcare - stay tuned for more updates, and try not to @ me, I’m just the messenger 🚨

L/W, stay healthy out there (and affordably so, hopefully)
