Fed Employees: Broke đ€
Federal employees are lowkey panicking about affording health insurance, no cap
So, you know how they say âwhen it rains, it poursâ? Well, federal employees are currently stuck in a thunderstorm with no umbrella, and itâs giving me major âIâm about to be brokeâ vibes.
The Tea â
They really said âhold my coffeeâ and announced that average premium payments in the federal governmentâs insurance program for its employees are set to jump more than 12% next year, on top of a 13. 5% hike in 2025 (yes, really).
Thatâs a two-year increase thatâs higher than many private employers and their workers are experiencing, and Iâm over here like âhow are they supposed to afford that?
I mean, think about it - these are the people who are supposed to be running the country, and they canât even afford their own health insurance. Itâs like, whatâs the tea, government?
Are you trying to give them all a collective heart attack or something?
Why This Matters (Or Doesnât) đ
This is lowkey a whole thing, and Iâm not okay. The people who actually know things are saying that this increase is going to affect over 5 million federal employees, and their families, and itâs justâŠ
wow. I guess you could say itâs a âmain character energyâ move by the government, but like, in a bad way.
Itâs not all bad, though - at least theyâre not alone. Lots of people are struggling to afford health insurance, and itâs a major problem that needs to be addressed. But still, youâd think the government would have their employeesâ backs, you know?
Itâs like, theyâre the ones who are supposed to be making the rules, not breaking them.
The Vibe Check đ
So, whatâs the vibe here? Well, itâs definitely not a good one. Federal employees are going to have to make some tough choices, and itâs not looking great for them.
I guess weâll just have to wait and see what happens next, but for now, itâs looking like a whole lot of uncertainty and financial stress.
On the bright side, though, maybe this will finally prompt the government to do something about the whole healthcare situation. A girl can dream, right?
Anyway, thatâs the tea for now. Stay tuned for more updates, and try not to lose your mind in the process, lol.
