Colonizers Owe Up 💀
African leaders are lowkey demanding justice and reparations for colonialism, and I'm here for it, no cap
So, you know how some people are still trying to downplay the whole colonialism thing? (yes, really) Well, African leaders are over it and are pushing for recognition of colonial crimes and reparations.
The Tea ☕
They really said ‘hold my coffee’ and convened a conference in Algiers to advance an African Union resolution calling for justice and reparations for victims of colonialism. The Algerian foreign minister was like, ‘African countries and peoples continue to pay a heavy price for colonialism,’ and honestly, it’s giving ‘same, though’.
Why This Matters (Or Doesn’t) 👀
This is lowkey a whole thing and I’m not okay because, let’s be real, colonialism was hella messed up. The people who actually know things are saying that African countries are still feeling the effects of colonialism, from economic instability to cultural erasure.
It’s wild that some people are still trying to brush it off, but African leaders are all, ‘Nah, we need justice and reparations, ASAP.
The Vibe Check 💅
So, what’s next? Will colonial powers finally acknowledge their wrongdoing and cough up some reparations? Or will they continue to give African leaders the cold shoulder?
Either way, it’s clear that African leaders are not here for the delulu and are demanding to be heard. It’s about time, if you ask me. The main character energy is strong with this one, and I’m living for it.
Anyway, that’s the tea on colonialism and reparations.
